The Polk County Library Cooperative in Florida has done something pretty nifty: they’ve installed two 24-hour vending machines — one for books, one for DVDs — at a tourism office off Highway 27 in the town of Davenport.  No credit cards needed: you just swipe your library card.

Which begs the question: since it’s a tourism office, won’t most of the folks passing through be tourists, and not Polk County residents who have library cards?

Either way, cool.
