HELL’S HOT This freaks me out a little - a volcano began erupting beneath a glacier in southern Iceland this weekend, creating this surreal-looking, 800-meter-long gash in the ice. More than 600 nearby residents were evacuated yesterday as a precaution. It’s the first volcano eruption in Iceland since 2004, and the first one in this region of the country in the past two centuries.
Eeek.
