In one CSI ep, the victim fakes his own murder by tying his gun to an elastic band attached to the inside of his chimney. He shoots himself; the gun goes whoooosh up the chimney, et voila - apparent homicide!
Fact is sometimes stranger than fiction, which was stranger than fact at one point.
