NY TIMES: "(Johnny) Damon was once seen as a potential franchise savior in small-market Kansas City, but he instead spent 18 seasons playing for seven clubs, winning World Series rings with the 2004 Red Sox and the 2009 Yankees. He was last seen struggling through a tough season with the Cleveland Indians, who released him in August after he batted .222 in 207 at-bats. A two-time All-Star, Damon will be playing this week for yet another team as he tries to help Thailand, his mother’s homeland, qualify for the 2013 World Baseball Classic."

Okay, this is just fucking awesome.  I love Johnny Damon, and his team, Thailand, will be playing the Philippines on Wednesday, GUH.

I hope he gets back to the MLB and gets his 3,000 hits.
