– Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the 5-4 majority saying that white firefighters in New Haven, CT. were denied promotions based on race. The ruling overturned an appellate court ruling that SCOTUS nominee Sonia Sotomayor previously endorsed.
